Over 1800 Photographs

This interpretive guide contains over 1800 photographs, nearly 1600 of those showing the 258 plants and their habitats. There are over 200 photographs illustrating 65 plant families, seven plant communities, and various natural history and botanical topics.

Each photograph shows a specific aspect of the plant, its life cycle, or another topic.

Nearly all photographs are from the San Gabriel Mountains. On the photo pages, you can see the approximate location of each photograph, the date it was taken, as well as the photographer's name. All were taken by the authors, Gabi and Cliff McLean. .

All photos were taken in the field, with minimal disturbance to the plants and their environment, mostly between 2003 and 2008.

We used Canon EOS D60, Canon EOS 20D, and Canon S2 IS digital cameras. We took the photographs at the highest resolution available and resized them to fit the computer screen, for faster loading.

If you wish more information or want to inquire about the use of the photos, please contact info@natureathand.com.
