Congratulations to our own Gabi and Cliff McLean for producing this wonderful CD field guide to the flora of the foothills. With more than 700 images of 124 plants, in many instances covereing their appearances at different times of the year, the amateur botanist will find this guide to be of great assistance. Each plant also has a written description.

This guide makes the most of CD/computer capabilities, in that the user can conduct automated searches by plant botanical name, common name, flower color, plant type, and plant community.

More than just a wildflowr guide, the CD also contains sections dealing with plant families, the plant communities of the foothills, and the adaptations of plants to fire and drought.

The CD sells for $14.95 at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center, site of the NSS Management Committee-Outings Planning Meeting on June 27.
